Getting started with adept
You have been invited to adept, where your training programme keeps your placements, grades, working pattern, exams and ARCP details. Getting in takes about five minutes.
1. Create your password
Your invitation comes from Adept Platforms (noreply@adept-platforms.com), called “You’re invited to Adept”.
- Press Create your password in the email.
- On the page that opens, press Continue.
- Choose a password with at least 12 characters, an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a symbol, such as ! or #. Type it again and press Create password.
- Press Sign in to Adept.
2. Set up your authenticator app
Sign in at manage.adept-platforms.com with your email address and new password. Every account also signs in with a code from an authenticator app on your phone. It takes about a minute.
- Install an authenticator app if you do not have one. Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator both work.
- In adept, press Set up authenticator app.
- Scan the QR code with the authenticator app. On the same phone, press Open my authenticator app instead, or Copy the key instead and paste it into the app.
- Type the 6-digit code the app shows and press Verify and turn on.
- Sign in again: your password, then a code from the app, and press Verify.
- Read the terms and privacy notice, tick the box and press Accept and continue.
From now on you sign in with your password and a code from the app.
You may get an email saying two-step verification was added. That is expected. If you did not set it up, email support@adept-platforms.com.
3. Check your record
Your Home page starts with Coming up: your ARCP date, next placement, next meeting and teaching day. Your grade, working pattern and end date are on Account. Please check:
- your grade, and where you are placed this rotation;
- your working pattern (full time or less than full time);
- your end date (CCT, or the end of core training);
- your next ARCP date.
Something wrong? In Coming up, press Ask my programme director, then My grade or dates. Say what is wrong and what it should be.
4. Find your way round
The menu has Home, Modules, Teaching, ARCP, Induction handbook, Account and Help & support.
- Ask my programme director (Home): a meeting, your working pattern (LTFT), or your grade or dates. The answer comes by email and to your inbox, the bell in the menu.
- ARCP: your next ARCP and your checklist. Fill it in before the “Complete by” date it shows.
- Exams and milestones (Home): press Edit to record exams as you pass them. For a stage certificate, press Request update.
- Modules: the curriculum modules you are covering in each placement, from what your trust offers.
- Teaching: the teaching calendar. On the day, scan the QR code in the room, or type the code on your Teaching page, then press Confirm check-in.
- Induction handbook: your trust’s handbook, and your next trust’s in the six weeks before you move.
- Request EDT: only where your trust has switched it on. Ask your college tutor for educational development time: 16 sessions a training year at stages 1 and 2, 32 at stage 3. A session is a morning or an afternoon.
5. Set up your account
- Calendar feed: press Make my calendar link to see your placements, ARCPs, meetings and teaching in your own calendar. The link is shown only once; keep it private.
- Notifications: choose whether you are emailed ARCP reminders, meeting reminders and EDT decisions.
- Your data: Download my data, or Request data deletion. The privacy notice is linked at the foot of the page.
The phone app
On Android, get adept on Google Play. It is the same account and the same sign-in. There is no iPhone app yet: use manage.adept-platforms.com in Safari.
If you get stuck
- New phone? While you still have the old one: Account › Two-factor authentication › Manage › Set up on a new phone.
- Lost your phone? Email support@adept-platforms.com from the address you sign in with, and we will reset your two-factor.
- Anything else: Help & support in the menu, or your programme director.
